Netlaw Advocatenkantoren

Group of commercial lawfirms in the Netherlands
comprising around 500 lawyers and notaries public.

Arbitration, conciliation, mediation

All Netlaw firms have lawyers who specialise in the resolution of conflicts out of court, as arbitrators, conciliators or NMI-registered mediators.

Every firm also has divorce conciliators, who help divorcees to settle their affairs as harmoniously as possible.

What is mediation or divorce conciliation?

In short: negotiations with professional monitoring. The "invisible hand" of a mediator guides the parties so that they can bring their conflict to a successful conclusion. That saves both time and expense, and also re-establishes a working relationship between the parties.

The mediator creates an atmosphere that favours progress, monitors the discussions and brings them to a conclusion. A conciliator will be neutral and qualified, and have experience in dealing with difficult relationships, drawing on legal expertise to bring the conflict to a proper conclusion.

The arbitrators, conciliators and mediators of Netlaw practice in a range of disciplines. Some of them are active in the field of family relationships, others in the construction industry, others are at home in the world of local or regional government, and still others specialise in corporate law or health care. There are specialists in labour conflicts, conflicts between shareholders, partners or board members, between purchasers and suppliers, and so on.
